Tom yum or tom yam is a type of hot and sour Thai soup. Tom yum has its origin in Thailand.
The words "tom yam" are derived from two Thai words. Tom refers to the boiling process, while yam means 'mixed.' Its distinguished by its hot and sour flavours, achieved through its generous use of fragrant spices and herbs, as well as fresh ingredients.
 
WHAT GOES IN A TRADITIONAL TOM YUM SOUP?
Traditionally tom yum is made by using a prawn or shrimp broth and adding all the above ingredients. Let it boil till all the flavours are released and then add chicken, prawns or vegetables. 
 
BUT WITH THE SOS PAT PONG, ALL YOU NEED IS 1 TBSP! 
  • Boil 11/2 cups of water
  • Add 1 tbsp of SOS Pat Pong paste
  • Add your choice of vegetables or chicken or prawns
  • Add 2 tbsp of coconut milk for a creamier version
