BASBOUSA CAKE

SERVING: 10 PREP TIME: 10min COOK TIME: 45min
INGREDIENTS (CAKE):
- 200g semolina
- 200g sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 125g butter
- 125 ml milk
- 250 ml yogurt
- 1 tbsp SOS Lust
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 50 ml simple syrup
INGREDIENTS (CREAM CHEESE FROSTING):
- 50g unsalted butter
- 100g cream cheese
- 20g powdered sugar
INGREDIENTS (TOPPING):
- 3 tbsp SOS Lust
- 15g almond flakes
METHOD:
- Mix semolina, sugar & baking powder in a bowl
- Now add in the wet ingredients - yogurt, milk, melted butter, vanilla essence & SOS Lust until well-combined & let sit for 5mins
- Butter a springform cake tin & pour the cake mixture in it
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45 min or until the cake is done
- Once the cake is out of the oven, pour the simple syrup on it
- Let the cake cool
- Whip up the frosting ingredients until soft & creamy
- Spread a layer of the frosting on the cooled cake & then a layer of the SOS Lust
- Garnish with toasted almond flakes.
