Chickpea Kofta

We’ve taken a comforting Italian favorite and given it a little SOS Harissa love. It’s simple, homestyle cooking with a hint of adventure — perfect for weeknights, family dinners, or whenever you crave something cozy with a bit of a kick

Ingredients  

  • 1 can of Chickpeas
  • 1 bowl Spinach leaves
  • 5 tbsp SOS Harissa
  • 4 tbsp Chickpea flour (Besan)
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil

Method

  1. Add the chickpeas and harissa to a blender and blitz till you get a pasty consistency
  2. Coarsely chop the spinach and add it to the chickpea mixture
  3. Toast the chickpea flour on a hot pan for a couple of minutes and add this to the mixture
  4. Apply a bit of oil to your palms and shape the mixture into balls
  5. Heat a pan and add the oil 
  6. Fry the koftas till they turn golden brown on each side
  7. Serve hot 

Tips

Make a cooling yogurt dip to go with it. This can be made by simply mixing plain yogurt with grated cucumber, salt and pepper

Serve on flat bread and top up with sliced onion, lettuce and drizzle the dip on it, to make a full meal
