Creamy Harissa Chicken

Ingredients  

  • 6 Chicken thighs - bone in
  • 3 Bacon rashers (slices)
  • 1 Onion
  • 7 tbsp SOS Harissa
  • 2 tbsp Cooking cream
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 Spring onion sprigs

Method

  1. Heat a pan and add the olive oil
  2. Pan sear the chicken pieces on high heat, 2 minutes on each side
  3. Remove the chicken and keep aside
  4. Chop the bacon rashers in small pieces and saute in the same pan till crisp and brown. Remove and keep aside
  5. Now drop in the chopped onion and saute till translucent
  6. Add the bacon back in
  7. Now add in the harissa and the chicken and mix well
  8. Add in the water and cover and cook till the chicken in cooked through. This will take about 10 to 12 minutes
  9. Remove the lid and add in the cream, mix well and simmer for 2 minutes
  10. Sprinkle on the chopped spring onion
  11. Serve hot   

Tips

Use can the cooking cream with coconut cream for a lighter twist. Add a handful of spinach or peas at the end for color and freshness.
